ELearning – Entrepreneur Project – Grades 6-8
Entrepreneur Project – Grades 6-8
- READ the TASK information below:
- INTRODUCTION: An Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business. Many entrepreneurs are young people with great ideas. Often these ideas would have never been successful had someone not listened to what the young entrepreneur had to offer. This is your opportunity to present your best business idea or invention.
- GOAL: There is an upcoming regional competition that will be choosing young entrepreneurs to share their ideas with a group of potential investors. These investors are looking to fund a new idea for a product or service. You will need to provide a sales pitch to a panel of investors who may be interested in a business with you.
- ROLE: You are a young entrepreneur who is very creative and enjoys coming up with new ideas to help people.

- CHOOSE ONE of the PROJECTS below to complete. You will need to create your final product using a Google tool (Doc, Sheets or Slides) or equivalent (Word, Excel, Canva, Prezi, Adobe Spark, WeVideo, Powerpoint, etc…) and submit to your teacher by the date required.
- SALES PITCH: Your sales pitch will need to be between 2-3 minutes. This presentation should include the important parts of your invention or idea. Be sure to include an explanation of the target audience for this new product. Why will this target audience want the product and/or service? Why would they be willing to pay for it? Be prepared to defend your reasons for making your choices and also discuss the design constraints of your final product. You may want to create a model or visual to demonstrate your ideas. You may also want to consider using multimedia to support your sales pitch. Be sure that your presentation informs and persuades the audience so they want to fund your entrepreneurial idea!
- BUSINESS PLAN: You will need to submit a business plan for your product or idea. The first part will be an Introduction. This section should introduce yourself, provide your background, and share your business idea and how it will benefit the target audience. The second part will be the Idea Description that explains your idea, why it is valuable, the target audience it will serve, and how you believe the product or service will help your target audience. The third part will be your Financial Plan. This should explain the costs associated with developing the product or service. First, think about how much it will cost to create one product or provide one service. The last part will be your Marketing Plan. This section should explain how your target audience will learn about your product. How will you market it? Where will it be available for purchase? Think about how to persuade your audience that your product or service is beneficial.
This will be a formal report and should have no spelling or grammar errors. It does not need to be long, but it needs to provide all of the necessary information.
