real-world project based lessons that connect classroom content with career pathways.

We achieve this by providing teachers with interdisciplinary project based lessons built around careers that provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge and deepen their understanding. Defined Learning will customize and align our performance tasks to your units of study across all grades.

Here’s what getting started with Defined Learning looks like:

• Discussion of your goals—each district has unique goals specific to the challenges they face. Tailoring Defined Learning to meet these goals is necessary for a successful implementation.
• Free trial period—we will provide you with temporary access to evaluate and dive deeper into all that we have to offer teachers and students.
• Sample alignment—we will provide a sample alignment to your district curriculum to show you how Defined Learning can meet your district’s needs.

STEM/PBL Elective or Science Rotation

Defined Learning’s project based learning units enhance core curriculum by providing opportunities for students to learn about STEM careers in context and connect the skills they are using in the classroom to the real work happening around the world. Defined Learning helps students apply what they have learned on a deeper level and develop skills that will make them successful in college and beyond. Each performance task provides the student with a unique and creative opportunity to transfer their knowledge into a real-life scenario utilizing “hands-on” projects.

Partnering with Defined Learning—account setup:

• Finalize the implementation plan and rollout for districts/teachers.
• Defined Learning will set up teacher accounts and assist in student rostering.
• Complimentary online training
• Additional professional development—Defined Learning offers a suite of options for training including
  on-site training by a member of our curriculum and training team.

After School or Summer Enrichment

Defined Learning engages students in learning that feels like play—placing them in the role of a STEM professional where they learn how actual scientists, engineers, and other professionals use STEM concepts to solve problems. Whether designing a backpack, making ice cream, or becoming a food truck entrepreneur, students engage in critical and creative thinking, build teamwork skills, and learn to design solutions to real-world challenges and become independent problem solvers.
